Teupen Tracked Access platform is new flagship for Devon based
hirer
Scissor, boom and trailer platform hire specialist Light Hire of
Exeter has recently extended its 85 strong fleet with the acquisition
of a Teupen Leo23GT tracked unit from UK importer, Ranger Equipment.
The 23GT is now the flagship of Light Hire's fleet and, according
to managing director Brian Light, “it is an extremely flexible
machine and offers real up and over performance plus an ability
to pass through a 1m gap and cross soft ground without causing
damage.”
In fact, Mr. Light reports that the new star of his fleet was
out on hire within a day of arriving at the depot and already
has numerous forward bookings throughout the year.
The 23 m working height Leo 23GT features telescoping lower
and upper boom sections which allow up to 11.20 m of horizontal
outreach, even with the maximum 200 kg cage load which equates
to two people and their equipment. This performance is achieved
using the standard, jacking area measuring 4.10 x 4.30 m. However,
it is possible to reduce this area down to as little as 2.30
m wide when faced with a particularly difficult site.
For fast and accurate set-up the machine also features auto self-levelling with full manual override with an ability to place the hydraulically operated stabiliser legs on uneven ground with a slope of up to 26%.
